About Us
Through our travels we have met amazing people that have shared incredible stories. Unfortunately, it's tough to keep up with everyone. That's why we created Travelbackpacker.com; so we can keep up with our friends tales from around the world and they can, in turn, follow ours. The site has grown tremendously since it's launch in later 2000 and we are always looking for creative and interesting stories.

After spending several Summer's backpacking in the Western United States, Canada, and Alaska, I knew traveling would be an important part of my life.
During college I lived in Seville, Spain and traveled through much of Western Europe.
In 1998-1999, I spent a year in Israel on a program called Project Otzma. I spent several months living and working on a kibbutz (community), volunteering in a small town in the north of the country, and teaching English at a high school in the Negev desert.
Most recently, I returned from a five month trip through five countries: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Nepal.
When I am not traveling, I work at as web programmer, visit www.samharwin.com to check out my resume.

I have traveled through Asia, Europe, parts of South America, and the Middle East. I love meeting people from the different countries I travel to, and seeking a few adventures along the way. Whether I'm running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, hunting anacondas in the Amazon, hiking in the Himalayas, or strolling around Machu Picchu and Angkor Wat, I am always searching for a memorable experience. This is my chance to write about some of these experiences. I hope you like the site, and it makes it easier for you to keep up with your friends while you or they are travelling.
