II. Basic Search

Located on the left hand column of every page are 2 drop down boxes that list all the authors that have logged onto the site, and all of the countries that have stories written about them. By clicking on the down arrow, you can see the entries in the drop down box. Then move the cursor onto the author or country you want to read about, click on the "go" button, and you will be taken to there page. You can only search by either "author" or "country" in this section, and not a combination of the two. A quick shortcut: if you want to choose the country Venezuala, for instance, select the country drop down box, type in the letter "V", and it will automatically go to the countries that start with "V".

III. Advanced Search
You can also choose the Advanced Search for more search options. You can only choose one of these options at a time to search by. Choose selection, and click on the "search" button to activate search.

A. Date - Choose the beginning and end dates that you would like the stories to fall between.

B. Location - Pick either Region, Country, or City and search accordingly. When searching by "story city" type in as many letters of the city as is known, and the search will return every city that has that sequence of letters in it. For instance, if you typed in "arcelo", it would return "Barcelona" (if there was a story written about Barcelona). But, if you typed in "barcelonas", it would not return anything, because the Spanish city does not contain all those letters in that order. If you typed in "a" theoretically it would look for every city that has an "a" somewhere in it. Realistically, it would take forever, and most likely crash, so please use more specific search criteria.

C. Title - Search by story titles, following the same methods as described in the Location section (B).

D. Keyword - Search by a keyword in the actual stories. So, if you want to find out where people went rafting, you could type in "rafting" or "raft" and find every story where that is mentioned in the text of the story. See Location section (B) for more info on searching with text boxes.

E. Author - Choose either last name, first name, or full name, and follow the same search methods as described in the Location section (B).

IV. Beyond Stories

A. Comment on this story - Tell other visitors your thoughts about the story you read.

B. Read Comments - See what others have said.

C. Meet the author - Read the author's bio.

D. Author's Stories - Return to the list of that author's stories.

E. Tell a friend about this story - Send an email to a friend with a link to that story.

F. Rate this story - choose from a scale of 1 to 5 what you thought of the story you just read. Top rated stories will be displayed at the bottom of the home page.
